About The Position

Seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to serve at Essentia Living Center, our long-term care facility located in Fosston, Minnesota. This CNA works an average of 36 hours weekly on the evening shift, 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Every other weekend and a holiday rotation are required. The role is responsible for providing direct care to skilled nursing facility residents and for serving the needs of residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, within the scope of the nursing assistant role. This includes providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, recognizing and dealing with the problems of the aging process, promptly reporting changes in resident condition to the shift nurse, and maintaining a safe, clean, attractive, and neat environment for the residents. The position requires awareness of and prevention of the abuse of vulnerable adults, and maintaining awareness of safety issues and initiating corrective actions for safety hazards and emergency situations.

Requirements

• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program.
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry or obtains within 4 months of hire/transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Must be aware of and prevent the abuse of vulnerable adults in the care of the Essentia Health skilled nursing facility.
• Maintains awareness of safety issues and strives to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner.
• Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective actions.
