Position Summary: Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care in a safe and effective manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data collection and care appropriate to the age of the patients served, with appropriate Nursing Assistant interventions. The Nursing Assistant plays a key role in ensuring excellent customer satisfaction to our patients. Working under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the incumbent maintains constant direct observation and visualization of identified patient(s). The Nursing Assistant provides activities of daily living to patients, and responsible for providing excellent patient hygiene. Assisting patients with ambulation, toileting needs, and taking vital signs are additional functions of this role. Immediate attention to patient call lights is an expectation as well.

Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • One year acute care experience.
  • Current American Heart Association Provider Basic Life Support
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certificate or Current Enrollment Status as a Nursing Student with successful completion of the first semester (Associate Degree of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
