About The Position

WANDER STAFFING seeks to add fifteen (15) Certified Nursing Assistants to our Team! These positions are located at the Health Services Department at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Carswell, located at 1200 Meandering Road, Fort Worth, TX 76114. FMC Carswell is a federal correctional institution and medical facility operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Located on the grounds of the former Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas, it is the only federal medical center for women in the Bureau of Prisons system. The facility provides specialized medical and mental health care for female inmates from across the United States who require advanced or long-term treatment. In addition to medical services, FMC Carswell functions as a secure correctional institution with multiple custody levels and support services. Because of its specialized mission, the facility employs a wide range of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, mental health providers, and allied health staff, to support both routine and complex patient care needs within the correctional environment.

Requirements

  • Current, valid, unrestricted CNA license in Texas
  • BLS
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily activities, such as personal care, bathing, toileting, diaper care, dressing, grooming, making occupied and unoccupied beds, and mobility support.
  • Safely move patients (wheelchair transport, transferring patients into and out of bed, wheelchairs, bathroom, showers, utilizing Hoyer lift safely, assisting in ambulation with walker or cane.
  • Reposition patients for comfort and prevention of skin breakdown.
  • Conduct rounds and answer call lights and telephone at the nurse’s station.
  • Ensure patients' nutritional and hydration needs are met, preparing and serving meals, assisting and feeding patients, encouraging hydration.
  • Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, heart rate, O2 sats, blood pressure, blood glucose monitoring.
  • Complete EKGs, fecal occult blood screening, urinalysis screening, coagulation checks.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities to other staff members.
  • Assist nurse with wound care, foley care, emptying and recording foley output, collecting stool samples.
