About The Position
Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles. The hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II trauma center, the Los Angeles Center for Womens Health, obstetrics and pediatric services, and comprehensive cardiac and surgical services. The CNA performs age-specific direct patient care functions and ancillary duties to meet the goals of Patient Care Services and comply with Title XXII regulations and JCAHO.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant: CA
- AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
- Fire Safety, within 90 Days
Responsibilities
- Provides personal hygiene care and assistance to patients in a timely manner and to document and report any unusual observation to the nurse in charge.
- Takes Vital Signs in a timely manner and reports abnormals promptly to the nurse in charge.
- Assists with food and fluid maintenance in a timely manner. Records Intake & Output consistently.
- Assists with elimination, documents according to prescribed procedures and reports patient's response in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assists in maintenance of body alignment, positioning and repositioning every 2 hours and PRN to provide patient comfort.
- Assists in pressure sore prevention by utilizing the turning schedule every 2 hours to patients with pressure sore or at risk of developing one.
