About The Position
MaineGeneral Health is a comprehensive nonprofit health system focused on enhancing the health of patients, families, and communities. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides patient care on the Maternity & Pediatrics unit under the supervision of an RN and in accordance with the applicable scope and standards of practice and the organization’s policies, values, and mission. The position is based at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, Maine. This position is scheduled for two 12-hour shifts per week, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., totaling 24 hours per week. Weekend and holiday rotation is required. The hourly base pay range is $19.65–$34.39; individual pay depends on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. Eligible team members may receive additional shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
Requirements
- Valid CNA certificate from the State of Maine.
- Excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic patient care activities within the scope of practice.
- Assist patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
- Greet patients and visitors.
- Answer, screen, and route telephone calls.
- Call codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Help keep the unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
