About The Position
Piedmont Geriatric Hospital is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care according to individualized treatment care plans. The role includes helping patients with activities of daily living and supporting them in learning social and interaction skills in a safe, therapeutic environment. Care is provided under the supervision of licensed staff, with observations of patients’ biopsychosocial needs and behaviors reported promptly to a licensed nurse. The position involves evening/night shift rotations, including 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 8-hour shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. or 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Shift differentials are listed for weekday and weekend/holiday shifts.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Virginia Certified Nursing Assistant license.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed staff.
- Ability to follow instructions and report observations of biopsychosocial needs and behaviors to a licensed nurse in a timely manner.
- Skills in providing direction and assistance to patients with activities of daily living.
- Knowledge of developmental and psychiatric disorders.
- Demonstrate competencies as defined on the Competency Assessment.
