Requirements

  • Current Certification as a Nursing Assistant.
  • High School Graduate.
  • Completion of Nursing Assistant Certification program.
  • CPR/AED certification

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of infection control and safety principles.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate good body mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Follows policies and practices that ensure consistency with current standards promulgated by and appropriate local, state, and federal regulatory bodies.
  • Identifies and reports deviations from safe practices and any risk management issues.
  • Is competent in acting in emergency situations based on Safety Manual, Emergency Preparedness and other policies.
  • Complies with Mather Code of Conduct, policies, Compliance Program, and all applicable laws and regulations in performance of one’s job duties; reports all known and suspected violations to his/her supervisor or manager, Mather Compliance Officer, a Human Resources representative, or the confidential employee helpline.
  • Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of the Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.
  • Provides input for the development of a care plan/service plan.
  • Implements interventions established in the care plan at the direction of the licensed staff.
  • Performs personal care for residents, as needed, i.e. , bathing, dressing, etc.
  • Understands and implements the principles of infection control and prevention; complies with company policies and procedures and wears PPE as directed.
  • Utilizes and complies with company policies, practices, and procedures to promote a culture of safety and employee and resident safety.
  • Documents care per documentation policy and standards.
  • Applies the concepts of the Mather Wellness Model and the 3 A’s in the care of residents, Achievement, Autonomy, and Affiliation.
  • Reports of a resident change of condition to the licensed nurse.
  • Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the company Mission, Vision, and Values, and Nextraordinary philosophy.
  • Uses a customer -focused approach to problem solving philosophy.
  • Maintains a courteous and professional manner through interactions with others.
  • Communicates with co-workers, residents and families in a timely manner.
  • Uses discretion in handling confidential information, incorporating all Federal, State and local privacy and confidentiality requirements.
  • Responsible for upholding resident rights.
  • Interactions with employees, residents, resident representatives, and guests will reflect our commitment to inclusivity.
  • Create exceptional experiences for internal and external customers in every interaction.
  • Incorporates fiscal responsibility through the provision of efficient, safe and cost-effective practices in the delivery of care.
  • Participates in orientation of new employees.
