About The Position

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is an essential member of Bluegrass Care Navigators’ hospice care team and works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role provides personal care and support to meet patients’ daily needs, enhance comfort, and maintain a safe environment. The CNA observes patients’ conditions and accurately reports and documents observations and services provided.

The hospice team supports patients and families who choose comfort and quality of life-focused care for terminal illness. Care is provided where patients call home, including houses, apartments, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. For patients whose needs require a higher level of attention, care may be provided at a Hospice Care Center. This position is PRN and serves Fayette and Jessamine County.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Currently registered as a State Nurse Aide with the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• Completion of a recognized Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training program.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and accurately document care provided.
• Self-directed, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates empathy for individuals who are ill, frail, or impaired, and understands hospice care philosophy and the needs of the terminally ill.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order and insured in accordance with state minimum requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting.
