About The Position

This 24-bed unit in the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center serves adult progressive surgical, oncology, palliative care and progressive acute care patients receiving chemotherapy. The Mission of the Progressive Care Unit is to provide expert care for our patients and families while supporting ongoing education and research. The approach is interdisciplinary and puts the patient and their family at the center of all we do. Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age required (for CNA).
• Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska required (for CNA).
• Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
• Minimum of 18 years of age required (for Nursing Assistant).
• High school education or equivalent required (for Nursing Assistant).
• Six months experience in patient care required or must be enrolled in nursing program (for Nursing Assistant).

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred (for CNA).
• Direct patient care experience preferred (for Nursing Assistant).

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of patient`s plan of care.
