This is a paid 10-week Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Employee Residency Program in partnership with the Delaware Skills Center, Dawn Career Institute, and Christiana Care Health System. The program integrates classroom and clinical components. Upon successful completion of the 6-week Certified Nursing Assistant Course, participants will take the Delaware State Test for Nurse Aide Certification. Following this, they will transition to Christiana Care for approximately 4 weeks of clinical training. The first 6 weeks involve instructor-led didactic and clinical training at either the Delaware Skills Center in New Castle, DE, or Dawn Career Institute in Newark, DE. The subsequent 4 weeks consist of preceptor-led clinical training in an acute care inpatient setting at Christiana Care's campuses in Newark or Wilmington. The starting rate of pay during the training is $16.50 hourly, with healthcare benefits provided during training and fully paid tuition. This program is specifically designed for individuals who desire to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and have no prior nursing assistant course completion or patient care experience. The program requires full-time attendance for 6 weeks, Monday through Friday, between 6:30 am and 4:00 pm. Upon completion, participants will be assigned to a ChristianaCare unit for one year or 1800 hours per agreement. Post-residency roles will be at Newark, DE, or Wilmington, DE campuses, offering full-time/flex (36 hours weekly/72 hours bi-weekly) or part-time (24 hours bi-weekly) positions, including every other weekend and rotating holidays. Available shifts include Day/Eve, Evening/Midnight, Day/Midnight, and Straight Eve shifts with 8 and 12-hour rotations.
