About The Position

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly motivated, qualified individual to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Correctional Health Services Division. This role provides an opportunity to join a team of passionate individuals who work hard in providing quality medical care. Please note: An offer of employment will be contingent on the applicant successfully passing a DHHS background check and pre-employment drug testing, and a Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) background screening.

Requirements

• Current and unrestricted certification as a certified nursing assistant.
• Must have current Certification of Nursing Assistant (CNA). Utah Administrative Rules R432-45
• Requires considerable & strenuous physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, recurring lifting.
• Must be able to life and carry over 50 pounds.
• Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. being subject to possible physical attack.
• You must successfully pass a criminal history check.
• Drug Test Required

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support Certification

Responsibilities

• Provide care to inmate patients at the Utah State Correctional Facility
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living
• Perform vital signs and laboratory point-of-care testing
• Provide care as supervised by a Registered Nurse
