About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care services under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor or Med/Surg RN. Requirements

• Nursing Assistant with current Wisconsin Certification or the ability to obtain prior to the start date.
• BLS certified.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year Med/Surg or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Observes, collects, and documents patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.
• Assist patients with routine activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with ambulation as outlined in plan of care.
• Maintains an effective clinical work environment including but not limited to cleaning the work area, changing linens, maintaining and monitoring supply levels, and transporting patients / specimens throughout hospital.
• Assist patients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge.
• Provides care/ treatments to patients as outlined in plan of care including, but not limited to: Monitoring of vital signs, Measurement of height and weight, Specimen collection, Catheter care, Capillary blood glucose checks, Range-of-motion exercises, Drain care.
• Ensures competency in all required skills and completes competency assessment annually per the documented competency checklist.
