The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Trauma/Ortho/Neuro/Tele Medical-Surgical position is a full-time role requiring 36 hours per week, with shifts from 7pm to 7:30 am, three nights per week. This role involves working every other weekend and requires working three holidays per year. The CNA will assist Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. Responsibilities also include measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, performing purposeful rounding, assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, collecting specimens, and completing various errands. The position requires performing patient positioning and transporting duties, maintaining skin integrity, and potentially removing IVs, providing post mortem care, and performing bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The CNA must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development.
