This is for a Certified Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant position on the 9 Trauma Medical Surgical unit. This is a 45-bed med-surg unit that provides care to trauma patients with a focus on the acute and chronic needs of hemodynamically and medically stable patients. This fast-paced unit focuses on acute and chronic needs of trauma patients admitted from the Emergency Department, transferred from the ICU, or admitted from surgical or procedural services.

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age required.
• Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 18 years of age required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Six months experience in patient care required or must be enrolled in nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon completion of unit orientation required.

Nice To Haves

• Direct patient care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of patient`s plan of care.
