About The Position
Elkhart Meadows is offering a FREE Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training program. This program is designed for individuals with a passion for caregiving who wish to turn it into a career. No previous experience is required, only a commitment to providing compassionate care. The training, which includes free classroom and hands-on instruction, can qualify you as a CNA in just a few weeks. Upon successful completion of the program and testing, graduates will have opportunities to work at any of ASC's 100 locations across Indiana, with further career advancement pathways in nursing available.
Requirements
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
- Completion of the Nurse Aide training program and testing.
- Ability to work with and be supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Assisting residents with bathing, dressing, and grooming tasks (hair care, brushing teeth, shaving).
- Helping residents during mealtimes, including transportation to the dining room and assistance with eating and drinking.
- Repositioning and transferring residents between beds and wheelchairs, or to the toilet.
- Obtaining resident vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure) and recording observations.
- Responding to patient call lights and fulfilling requests.
- Building meaningful relationships with residents, providing care and companionship.
