The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will assist the Registered Nurse (RN) with the daily care of patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This includes tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, assisting with activity orders and ambulation, and performing patient transports. The role involves accurate measurement and documentation of vital signs and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, and participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes. The CNA will also be responsible for collecting specimens, managing supplies, maintaining patient skin integrity, and adhering to infection prevention policies. This position requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served and to assess and interpret patient status based on growth and development principles.
