About The Position

Cedar County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) has an immediate opening for a PRN Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This position provides direct patient care and support services throughout multiple clinical and acute care departments, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and the Emergency Department, based on patient care and staffing needs. The successful candidate must be flexible, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Current Missouri Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain within established timeframes.
  • Ability to successfully complete hospital orientation, competency validation, and department-specific training.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work independently while recognizing when guidance or assistance is needed.
  • Flexibility to float between departments and adapt to changing patient care needs.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and excellent customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and providers.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting, ambulation, and repositioning.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, height, and weight as directed.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition, including skin integrity, activity level, behavior, intake and output, and vital signs.
  • Collect and transport specimens according to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient transport as needed.
  • Provide one-on-one patient observation after completion of required competencies.
  • Float between outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and the Emergency Department as assigned to support patient care and departmental staffing needs.
  • Assist nursing staff during emergency situations and respond appropriately under the direction of licensed personnel.
  • Maintain patient rooms, care areas, and equipment in clean, organized, and safe conditions.
  • Demonstrate proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques.
  • Utilize hospital equipment safely, correctly, and effectively.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and protect all patient health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Recognize and report concerns related to child abuse, elder abuse, domestic violence, or patient abuse according to hospital policy.
  • Participate in staff meetings, educational opportunities, competency validations, and required in-service training.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize patient care activities based on patient needs.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Perform other duties assigned within the scope of certification and training.
