Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - 5 Medical - 0.3 FTE - 8hr PM's
About The Position
We are seeking compassionate and professional nursing assistants to join the 5MEDICAL unit in Southeastern Wisconsin. This 53-bed medical unit serves a diverse patient population with conditions such as respiratory diseases, infectious processes, chronic conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, renal failure, diabetes, alcohol/opiate withdrawal, and patients requiring medical evaluation before transitioning to other care environments. Patient management may include telemetry monitoring, continuous medication infusions, wounds, ventilators, tracheostomies, and various tubes and drains. 5MEDICAL is patient-focused and emphasizes teamwork, continuously striving for improved care through an active staff-led Shared Governance Council, patient outcome-focused teams (e.g., Falls and Skin Integrity), and an interdisciplinary team. The unit is committed to maintaining a Healthy Workplace and supports new nurses with structured orientation, also supporting more students and nursing programs than any other unit in Waukesha County. The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide support to the staff and patients, working independently to provide resource information and general nursing care. Responsibilities also include completing clerical tasks related to regulatory annual requirements, audits, and patient processes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) - active or expired on registry
- Must have a strong interest in customer service, able to multi task, work independently with little supervision
- Passionate about providing excellent patient care and able to demonstrate compassion at the end of life
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the staff and patients on the unit
- Work independently providing resource information and general nursing care to patients
- Complete clerical tasks related to regulatory annual requirements, audits and patient processes
