About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct, hands-on personal care and daily living support to clients in skilled nursing facilities, RCFE communities, and private homes. CNAs support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) in alignment with an individualized service plan developed by Care Indeed in collaboration with the client’s family or designated care representative. As key representatives of Care Indeed, CNAs are expected to deliver care with the highest standards of professionalism, adaptability, and respect, serving as trusted partners to clients, families, and facility staff. This role is responsible for effectively supporting a diverse client population across multiple care settings while upholding Care Indeed’s commitment to quality, safety, and client dignity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of at least 75 hours of caregiving training, including personal care services.
  • Active California CNA certification (meets Home Health Aide qualification requirements).
  • Valid American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • Ability to uphold professional ethics, client dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in spoken and written English.
  • Must pass a criminal background check, health screening, and medical clearance before employment.
  • Completion of Live Scan fingerprint background clearance is required before employment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and assist with client mobility; lift up to 50 pounds; and assist with transfers of clients up to 250 pounds using appropriate equipment or team assistance.
  • Ability to assist with mobility and transfers using equipment such as gait belts, slide boards, mechanical lifts (e.g., Hoyer lifts), wheelchairs, and other transfer devices, in accordance with safety guidelines and the service plan.
  • Sufficient vision and hearing (with correction if needed) to safely perform client care.
  • Ability to safely perform personal care, basic housekeeping, and meal preparation tasks.
  • Maintain active CPR and other required certifications.
  • Required licensure/certification/registration must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Proof of current, valid credentials must be provided upon request.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates may be hired before obtaining CPR certification, but must secure certification within two weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care services aligned with the agency’s service plan.
  • Assist with ADLs and IADLs while encouraging client independence when appropriate.
  • Support personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and skin care.
  • Provide feeding assistance and nutritional support as needed.
  • Offer emotional support and promote client comfort, dignity, and engagement.
  • Prepare meals and assist with grocery shopping as assigned (applicable only to in-home assignments).
  • Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, linen changes, and cleaning client areas (applicable only to in-home assignments).
  • Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and behavior in all care settings.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Nurse Staffing Specialist about scheduling, client needs, and care concerns.
  • Observe, document, and promptly report changes in a client’s physical or mental condition.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
  • Uphold client confidentiality and ethical standards (HICC).
  • Follow safety practices, including universal precautions and infection control protocols.
  • Coordinate care with supervisors, managers, or clinical staff as appropriate.
  • Attend required in-service training and maintain active CPR and other required certifications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
