About The Position

Western Home Communities is offering a no-cost Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program for individuals interested in starting or advancing a career in healthcare. This program is part of a registered apprenticeship through the U.S. Department of Labor and provides a direct pathway into a CNA role upon successful completion. The program includes orientation, training dates from July 27 to August 13th, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, approximately 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM. New hire orientation and graduation will be on August 14th. The training will take place at the Western Home Communities: Learn and Earn Campus in Cedar Falls, IA. Full attendance is required for all classroom and clinical sessions.

Requirements

• Ability to attend all scheduled training and clinical sessions.
• Interest in working with seniors in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to meet pre-employment requirements (background check, health screening, etc.).
• Strong reliability, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Access to reliable internet access and laptop or computer.

Responsibilities

• Attend all scheduled training and clinical sessions.
• Work part-time hours after successful completion of the program.
• Participate in every other weekend and holiday rotation.
• Complete CNA state certification testing.
• Engage in clinical onboarding and department placement meetings.
