About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Shower Aide provides a safe environment and emotional and social support for residents in a skilled nursing facility, while attending to their physical needs and comfort. The role provides direct care according to each resident’s care plan and supervisor direction, and assists residents with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. The employee also follows the community’s health, sanitation, and infection-control policies and established standards of practice, and performs other duties as directed by community representatives.

Requirements

• Hold current Nursing Assistant certification and be in good standing on the applicable state registry, or otherwise meet state requirements to work as a Nursing Assistant.
• Have a high school diploma or GED, or be actively enrolled in a high school program.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment and emotional and social support for residents.
• Attend to residents’ physical needs and comfort in a skilled nursing facility.
• Provide direct care in accordance with residents’ care plans and supervisor direction.
• Assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Follow health, sanitary, and infection-control policies and established standards of practice.
• Perform other duties as directed by representatives of the community.
