This is a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position within the Nursing Float Pool at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including essential tasks like bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation. CNAs are responsible for accurately measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, and assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. They ensure patient safety by keeping call lights within reach and responding promptly. The position also includes specimen collection, point-of-care testing, maintaining nursing area stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties that require physical exertion. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with nutritional needs, maintaining skin integrity, providing special patient supplies, and potentially performing tasks such as removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles.
