This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position in Adult Behavioral Health, working the 3rd shift (2300-0730) at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance. Responsibilities also include accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes, and ensuring patient safety by keeping call lights within reach. The CNA will collect specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and assist with nutritional needs and skin integrity maintenance. Depending on unit requirements and under RN direction, tasks may include IV removal, post-mortem care, and bladder scans. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic techniques, is crucial. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
