The Certified Nursing Assistant/Caregiver participates in the development and updating of residents' individualized interdisciplinary plans of care, including the Resident Summary. They provide care and programming according to the plan of care, and are responsible for the activities, recreation, exercise, and psycho-social needs of daily living of residents, collaboratively focusing on their choices and needs. The CNA reports to the Household Team Leader at the beginning of the shift and before going off duty. They are responsible for reporting faulty equipment to maintenance, the Director of Nursing, and the Administrator for Healthcare, and for tagging faulty equipment and removing it from service. The CNA responds to resident call bells and alarms and supports residents within their scope of practice. They observe and report pertinent information, abnormal conditions, safety concerns, and changes in residents' conditions to the Household Team Leader in a timely manner. The CNA relates well with residents, clients, family members, staff, and the community. They view themselves as part of a team and model honoring lives principles. They view the care setting as the resident's home and work to create attributes of home. The CNA demonstrates dependability, competence, accuracy, and is observant. They adhere to compliance policies regarding confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and resident and client rights. They comply with regulatory agency standards and applicable policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control protocols in all aspects of the job. The CNA demonstrates understanding of the Code of Conduct and abides by its guidelines in all aspects of the job.
