About The Position

This role is responsible for processing orders and patient charges accurately and efficiently, answering telephones and call lights promptly, and directing visitors. The position involves maintaining medical records, managing supplies (scanning, stocking, ordering, and disposing of expired items), and providing patient care according to established standards and job duties. Documentation of care provided, maintaining a clean work and patient environment, and participating in performance improvement activities are also key aspects. The role may involve floating to various units based on needs, verifying charge accuracy, and assembling patient folders and charts. Additionally, the position requires setting up communication systems for new staff.

Requirements

  • Completion of a CNA program.
  • Nursing Assistant Certification in applicable state.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Processes orders and patient charges in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Answers the telephone and call lights in an appropriate and timely manner, providing information or relaying messages to patients and staff.
  • Directs visitors to patients' rooms.
  • Maintains medical records of current patients.
  • Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking, and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
  • Provides patient care as assigned and per routine, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures according to CNA job duties and expectations.
  • Documents care provided according to standards.
  • Maintains a clean work and patient environment.
  • Floats to various units based on identified needs.
  • Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.
  • Verifies accuracy of charges entered.
  • Facilitates a welcoming environment assisting with visitor wayfinding.
  • Assemble patient folders and charts for unit.
  • Rauland responder/Vocera/versus set up for new staff.
