The Certified Nursing Assistant 2 provides patient care as assigned and per routine, according to their educational scope, standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures. This role involves answering call lights promptly, documenting care provided, and maintaining a clean work and patient environment. Responsibilities include managing supplies, floating to various units as needed, and participating in performance improvement activities. The CNA 2 also assists with training new partners, monitoring blood glucose, performing bladder scans, attaching patients to cardiac monitors, managing collection devices (colostomy, ileostomy, indwelling catheters, nasogastric tubes, surgical drains), taking vital signs, and discontinuing invasive devices under the direction of a supervising RN.
