About The Position
Commonwealth Senior Living at Haddam, Connecticut is offering a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about serving seniors. We are awarding 3 full Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) training scholarships to qualified applicants. Upon successful completion of the training and certification exam, recipients will be guaranteed a Resident Care Associate (RCA) role with a one-year employment commitment. This program covers 100% of your CNA training tuition, provides CPR and First Aid certifications, and leads directly to a paid RCA position starting at $21.00/hour, with potential for shift differentials. We are looking for individuals with the right heart and a genuine desire to serve seniors, rather than just a perfect resume. Your personal letter is key to being considered for this opportunity.
Requirements
- Prior private duty caregiving or home health experience is desired.
- Bring compassion and a genuine desire to serve seniors.
- Ability to meet residents’ physical and emotional needs.
- Able to lift, stoop, carry, turn, assist high-risk residents, lift and/or carry 50–75 pounds, and remain active throughout the workday.
- Flexible availability to work weekends as needed to support continuous resident care.
- Agree to work full-time for Commonwealth Senior Living for at least one year after certification or reimburse the company for the training cost.
- Open to work any shifts.

Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on care, supporting daily tasks, mobility, lifts, transfers, and routine care rounds while protecting dignity and safety.
- Deliver essential care that maintains skin integrity and helps prevent pressure ulcers.
- Accurately record care using standard computer equipment and follow safety and infection-control procedures.
- Offer respectful physical, emotional, and psychosocial support to residents and families in a homelike environment.
