About The Position

Apple Rehab Avon is hiring a Certified Nurses Assistant for its family-oriented, 60-bed skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation facility in Avon, Connecticut. The facility emphasizes personalized resident care and a supportive, collaborative workplace. Available schedules include 32 hours, 24 hours, 16 hours, and per diem. Per diem staff are expected to fulfill two weekend shifts monthly. Benefits and requirements may vary based on employment status and hours worked.

Requirements

Hold current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
Have no history of patient or resident abuse as recorded on the State Registry.
Be proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Be a team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward residents and their support networks.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking, wheelchair use, and positioning in and out of bed.
Document personal care according to facility policies.
Perform nursing functions as directed, including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, and measuring and recording temperature, weight, pulse, and respiration.
Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions, including skin breakdowns, to a supervisor.
Report accidents or injuries immediately.
Complete necessary charting entries.
Answer all call lights regardless of assignment.
Respond calmly and efficiently to emergency situations.
