About The Position

Oriana House Inc. is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner to join their team. This role involves reviewing and approving job descriptions for healthcare service providers, coordinating with HR, conducting client physical examinations, interpreting medical histories, ordering and performing diagnostic tests, prescribing medication, educating clients on preventative care and treatments, conferring with private physicians, acting as a resource for health-related decisions and policies, collaborating with employees to identify and meet client needs, working with client families, assessing the quality of care, and initiating the development of policies and procedures for nursing and other services under their control.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.
  • Current approval by the joint Medical Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.
  • Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in the state.
  • Must have a favorable attitude regarding the disease concept of addiction.
  • Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees, and outside contacts, and a diverse client population.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years chemical dependency, institutional and/or emergency room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and approves job descriptions related to employees who provide health care services to clients. Coordinates all changes with Human Resources Department.
  • Conducts physical examinations of clients and interprets their medical histories.
  • Orders medical tests for clients and performs diagnostic tests, screening evaluations, and procedures.
  • Prescribes medication for clients.
  • Educates clients about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
  • Confers with clients’ private physicians as needed.
  • Acts as a resource person for decisions, planning, and policies affecting the health of clients.
  • Collaborates with employees to identify clients’ needs and helps develop plans to meet those needs.
  • Works with clients’ families as necessary.
  • Assess the quality of care rendered.
  • Initiates the development of policies and procedures that govern nursing services and other services under his or her position control.
