About The Position

Saint Joseph Hospital is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife to join our highly respected, hospital-employed Women's Health team in Nashua, New Hampshire. This is a collaborative practice that includes Obstetrician/Gynecologists and Certified Nurse Midwives who work together to provide compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care. The practice values collaboration, autonomy, and mutual respect. Midwives provide comprehensive care across the continuum, including prenatal and postpartum care, labor and birth management, newborn care, well-woman gynecologic care, family planning and contraceptive management, and menopause support and preventive women's health services. The role emphasizes preserving the core philosophy of midwifery while delivering exceptional evidence-based care and promoting shared decision-making. The team culture is built on mutual respect, teamwork, collaborative clinical decision-making, seamless physician support, continuity of care, and strong nursing and hospital support. Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Midwifery program
  • Current or eligible New Hampshire APRN licensure
  • Current AMCB certification
  • DEA certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based practice
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Passion for collaborative, family-centered maternity care

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care
  • Manage labor and attend vaginal deliveries
  • Perform routine newborn assessments
  • Develop individualized care plans that reflect each patient's preferences and goals
  • Educate patients and families throughout pregnancy and beyond
  • Promote informed, shared decision-making
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
  • Deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive, patient-centered care
