About The Position

Provides professional care for patients with obstetric and gynecologic needs. Assists patients in labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care. Ensures safety and health of mother and child and identifies need for additional care. Performs a variety of tasks. Works in conjunction with a practicing physician. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Texas Tech Health El Paso (TTEP) is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. Additionally, this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid opportunities. All work is required to be performed onsite at TTEP. Provides services in an interdisciplinary midwifery program Provides full scope midwifery services to a largely Hispanic population in a medically underserved area. Responsibilities include providing medical care and treatment to obstetrical patients in a division which is moving to 24/7 coverage of births. Educate nurse-midwifery and medical students with an interdisciplinary approach incorporating OB/GYN residents. Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations. Remain current with all licensure, certifications, and mandatory compliance and training requirements for this position Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). Personally and consistently demonstrate, display and act in accordance with TTUHSC EP's Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife
• A bachelor's degree
• 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area
• Must be a registered nurse in the State of Texas
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• One year full scope midwifery practice or nursing practice
