About The Position

Orlando Health Medical Group (OHMG) is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) for an OBGYN Midwife Hospitalist opportunity at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. This role involves providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, primarily covering for private practice providers. The hospitalist group operates within the Orlando Health Women's Institute, a hospital-based model covering multiple Orlando Health facilities. Clinical duties include labor and delivery, postpartum care, and comprehensive care in the Women's Triage unit. The hospital is recognized nationally for its obstetric and gynecologic care and is supported by a robust clinical infrastructure including employed and private practice OBGYN Hospitalists, 24/7 OB Anesthesia, in-house Neonatology, and a stable RN workforce. The team collaborates with various specialty divisions within the Women's Institute.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or higher) from a program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME).
  • Certified as a Certified Nurse-Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) renewed every five (5) years in compliance with the AMCB recertification methods (Certificate Maintenance Program vs. Reexamination).
  • Ability to obtain an active licensure in Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a qualification of Certified Nurse-Midwife renewed every two (2) years in compliance with the Florida Board of Nursing.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification; and NRP certification.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a practicing Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM); candidates who do not meet this requirement but have a strong midwifery/nursing background (within the specialty) may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with first assisting in surgical procedures; candidates who do not meet this requirement but exhibit a willingness to learn this skill will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Full time CNMs enjoy a flexible monthly schedule of 14 clinical twelve-hour shifts (variable shifts) in a calendar month.
  • Ability to pick up additional shifts. No on-call!
  • Work in an acute care environment where you are truly a member of a care team!
  • Join a team that provides clinical coverage 24/7 – including Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Gynecology, and Obstetrical Triage Department.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and advanced practice provider colleagues!
