About The Position

Southern Regional Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our Women’s Health and Labor & Delivery team as a 1099 Independent Contractor. This opportunity offers schedule flexibility while providing comprehensive, evidence-based obstetrical and gynecologic care in a collaborative hospital environment. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care and working alongside OB/GYN physicians, nursing staff, anesthesiologists, and neonatal specialists.

Requirements

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Midwifery.
Current certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license (state applicable).
DEA registration (if required).
BLS, ACLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.

Nice To Haves

Minimum one year of CNM experience preferred; exceptional new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care.
Independently manage low-risk pregnancies and deliveries.
Conduct routine gynecologic examinations and women’s health visits.
Perform labor management, spontaneous vaginal deliveries, and postpartum care.
Identify high-risk pregnancies and collaborate with OB/GYN physicians for consultation or transfer of care.
Educate patients on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, contraception, and preventive health.
Accurately document all patient encounters within the electronic medical record.
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Provide on-call coverage as scheduled.
