Certified Nurse Midwife Hospitalist
About The Position
Saint Peter’s University Hospital is looking to hire a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) Hospitalist for the L&D and PET OB/GYN coverage. The certified nurse midwife (CNM) will function independently but in collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide midwifery services to inpatients. They will be responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of nurse midwifery care delivered to the antepartum, intrapartum and post-partum and newborn patients. Services will be provided on varying shifts within the department in Labor and Delivery, and the PET Unit. Care will be provided to intrapartum patients in Labor and Delivery, PET, and as needed by the Ob/Gyn physician team.
Requirements
- Graduation from a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
- Master's or doctoral degree
- Current CDS and DEA required
- Current active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board or be actively seeking initial certification and obtain the same on the first certification for which they are eligible
- Current active licensure to practice as a Certified Nurse Midwife in the nurse midwife category as per the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certified
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider I (NRP) certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association
- NRP II (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider II) certification to be obtained during clinical orientation
