About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct care and support to residents under the direction of the Unit Manager or Charge Nurse, helping ensure their comfort, dignity, and safety. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a clean and supportive environment, observing and reporting changes in residents’ conditions, and supporting residents’ social, recreational, and dining activities. The position is part-time, 24 hours per week, on the PM shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Saturday through Monday, in Unit F1. Training lasts approximately two weeks, with classroom education during the first week and on-the-floor training during the second week, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
Current, active CNA certification in the State of California.
Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
Strong understanding of written and verbal instructions.
Demonstrated ability to support residents’ daily care needs while maintaining dignity and resident rights.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents for extended periods.
Ability to use proper body mechanics and assistive devices safely.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with grooming, hygiene, nutrition, activity, rest, and elimination safely and respectfully.
Maintain a clean, comfortable resident environment, including proper ventilation, lighting, and furniture arrangements.
Promote residents’ dignity and uphold resident rights, including freedom from abuse and restraints.
Immediately report signs of abuse or violations of resident rights to the Charge Nurse or appropriate personnel.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families, visitors, and healthcare team members.
Maintain confidentiality regarding residents and their care.
Follow individualized care plans and assist with restorative nursing care as directed.
Monitor residents and report changes in behavior, appearance, or physical ability to the Charge Nurse or Unit Manager.
Perform non-clinical nursing procedures under supervision and within the scope of CNA certification.
Keep equipment and supplies clean and ready for use, and report repair or supply needs to the supervising nurse.
Respond promptly to call lights and emergencies.
Transport residents safely using appropriate equipment and proper body mechanics.
Support residents in recreational, social, and dining activities as needed.
Recognize and respect residents’ emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs.
Attend required training and maintain competency in using lifts, shower chairs, adjustable beds, and other equipment.
Follow infection-control and safety procedures, including hand hygiene and proper disposal of soiled materials.
Document care accurately, promptly, and concisely.
Accept assignment changes as needed to ensure quality resident care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
