About The Position

This is a full-time Certified Nurse Assistant position on the night shift at Medical South, specifically in the 1039 Cardiac department. The role involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including taking vital signs, assisting with bathing, dressing, and moving patients, and changing linens. The Certified Nurse Assistant will also obtain information on patient condition and report any changes to the nursing staff. CoxHealth is a large healthcare system with multiple hospitals and clinics, recognized for its workplace excellence by various publications. The position offers a Nurse Assistant Training Program for eligible candidates, including trainees, to gain experience in a classroom and clinical setting. Upon completion of training, a competency assessment will be administered.

Requirements

3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years OR Completed the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program OR Must have Missouri CNA License OR Must have MO CNA Appendix
BLS must be obtained within 90 days
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Is available for work on a consistent and timely basis
Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks

Responsibilities

Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.

Obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff, and reports any changes in patient condition.
While in the clinical learning environment, will provide basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff.
During clinical rotation, may perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties within their scope of practice as directed.
While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition.
