This position is for a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Nurse Assistant Trainee on the Step Down Unit at Cox Medical Center Branson. The role involves providing basic patient care under the direction and supervision of nursing staff and clinical educators. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with bathing, dressing, and patient mobility, changing linens, and reporting changes in patient condition. There are opportunities for training programs, including a Nurse Assistant Apprenticeship and a Nurse Assistant Training Program, designed to help individuals obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus, relocation bonus, and front-loaded Paid Time Off.

Requirements

  • 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years OR Completed the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program OR Must have Missouri CNA License OR Must have MO CNA Appendix AND MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire
  • BLS must be obtained within 90 days
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits valuable time management skills
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Is available for work on a consistent and timely basis
  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff.

  • Perform other duties within their scope of practice as directed.
  • Obtain information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator.
