About The Position

Meadow Brook Rehab and Nursing in Salt Lake City, Utah, is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide care to residents. The facility describes itself as a close-knit group focused on providing residents the best care possible and improving the lives of residents, their families, and staff. The role offers 8-hour shifts. Full-time CNAs work five days a week; part-time CNAs work two to three days a week, and PRN CNAs work on an as-needed or available schedule. Day shifts run from 6 AM to 2 PM, swing shifts from 2 PM to 10 PM, and night shifts from 10 PM to 6 AM.

A nursing tuition reimbursement program may provide up to $500 per month, pre-tax, for nursing school. Eligibility requires working part time or full time and completing the first 90 days; no contract is required. Listed benefits are available only to full-time employees, not part-time or PRN employees.

Requirements

• Hold an active CNA certification in good standing issued by the state of Utah.
• Communicate effectively on a personal level with residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
• Be able to make decisions independently when warranted.
• Have knowledge of medical and nursing practices and procedures.
• Have a thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Answer residents’ call lights to determine their needs.
• Turn and reposition residents while they are in bed.
• Provide physical support to help residents perform daily living activities, including getting in and out of bed, bathing, eating, dressing, using the bathroom, standing, walking, and exercising.
• Review dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences to ensure residents receive an appropriate diet.
• Record food and liquid intake and output as necessary.
• Report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff.
