About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Nurse Assistant Trainee to join their Pulmonary department on the night shift. This role involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including taking vital signs, assisting with bathing, dressing, and moving patients, and changing linens. The position also requires reporting any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff. For qualified candidates, there is a sign-on bonus of up to $1800, up to 24 hours of front-loaded Paid Time Off, and up to $3,000 relocation bonus. A career ladder is also available. The Nurse Assistant Training Program is an option for those seeking to become unlicensed assistive personnel, involving classroom and clinical learning environments. Upon completion of training, a competency assessment will be administered.

Requirements

3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years OR Completed the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program OR Must have Missouri CNA License OR Must have MO CNA Appendix AND MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire
BLS must be obtained within 90 days
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exhibits valuable time management skills
Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Is available for work on a consistent and timely basis
Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks
BLS within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

While in the clinical learning environment, will provide basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff.
During clinical rotation, may perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties within their scope of practice as directed.
While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition.
