A career ladder is also available. The Nurse Assistant Training Program functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical learning environment, the trainee will provide basic patient care under the direction and supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff. Duties may include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens, all within their scope of practice as directed. The trainee will also obtain information on patient condition as requested and report any changes. A competency assessment will be administered at the end of the training. The Certified Nurse Assistant/Nurse Assistant role involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, performing duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. The role also includes obtaining information on patient condition and reporting any changes.
