The Nurse Assistant Apprenticeship involves functioning within a classroom and clinical learning environment to gain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. In the clinical setting, under the direction and supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff, the apprentice will provide basic patient care. Duties may include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens, all within their scope of practice. The apprentice will also obtain information on patient condition and report any changes. A competency assessment will be administered at the end of the training to validate learning. For Certified Nurse Assistants and Nurse Assistants, the role involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Duties include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens, and other assigned tasks. The individual will obtain information on patient condition as requested by nursing staff and report any changes.
