Provides daily supportive and functional care to residents in a compassionate environment, following established community care procedures and nursing leadership direction. Works collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team focused on residents directing their own care. The role includes supporting residents’ comfort, personal care, dignity, independence, activities, meals, therapies, and care plans; communicating observations and changing needs to nurses; documenting care; and maintaining a clean, safe environment. The position requires current CNA certification in Missouri or Illinois. In Pennsylvania, candidates must be enrolled, or eligible for enrollment within 120 days of completing the training program, on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry. Prior direct patient or resident care experience is preferable. The employee must be willing to work beyond normal hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. The workplace is well-lighted and ventilated, with its own temperature control system, air conditioning, and heat. The work may involve emotionally upset residents or family members, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and infectious waste or disease exposures, including AIDS and Hepatitis B, under standard precautions. Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment is provided as needed.
