About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for our Labor and Delivery Unit located within the Edgewood Hospital. This role is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program. The position utilizes Customer Service skills when greeting patients/visitors and answering the telephone. The CNA demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. They provide direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN, assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing for personal care, comfort, and assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients. The role requires demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

  • High school or GED graduate.
  • Successful completion of first clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Not listed on applicable state Abuse Registry.
  • Must have CPR for the professional rescuer.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Successful work employment history.

Nice To Haves

  • Health Unit Coordinator Course Certification
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Prior CNA experience
  • Prior clerical experience including phone etiquette
  • Data entry

Responsibilities
