About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN. This includes monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. It requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. The role also involves assisting patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation. The CNA will report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff, and assist with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly. Participation in performance improvement and continuing education is expected, as is providing quality patient care and working flexible shifts or units as needed. Maintaining regular and reliable attendance and performing other duties as assigned are also part of the role. Patient populations served include Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, and Older Adult. Protected Health Information accessed includes Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, and Complete Medical Record. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Oregon CNA License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
