Eastern Iowa Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located in Coralville, Iowa. We are dedicated to helping patients regain independence, restore function, and improve quality of life following an injury, illness, or complex medical condition. Our interdisciplinary team delivers individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific recovery goals. We specialize in rehabilitation services for patients recovering from stroke, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, trauma, orthopedic injuries, and amputations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Iowa required.
  • Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist patients with mobility needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.
  • Previous healthcare or rehabilitation experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Monitor and report changes in patients' physical, emotional, and mental conditions to nursing staff.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake and output, and other patient care data as directed.
  • Assist patients with mobility, transfers, ambulation, positioning, and range-of-motion exercises.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment.
  • Assist with admission, discharge, and transportation of patients as needed.
  • Support rehabilitation goals by encouraging patient participation in therapy and daily activities.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and call lights while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Ensure infection prevention and safety protocols are consistently followed.
  • Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process.
