About The Position

Ashe Memorial Hospital is seeking a Certified Midwife to provide comprehensive women’s healthcare services. This role includes prenatal, postpartum, gynecologic, and preventative care, ensuring continuity of care between patient visits. The Certified Midwife will collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care for women across the lifespan. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, clinically confident, and dedicated to providing exceptional care to women, infants, and families in both routine and emergent situations. The position serves a diverse patient population including infants, pediatric patients, adolescents, adult women’s health patients, and obstetric patients (antepartum and postpartum), as well as their families and visitors.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Midwife Program required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina required.
• Current Nurse Midwife license in the State of North Carolina required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.
• NRP certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer proficiency required.
• Strong patient and guest relations skills.
• Ability to function effectively in stressful and emergency situations.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations unless an approved exemption has been granted.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of Lactation Educator Training Program preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
