About The Position
Ascension is seeking a Certified Medication Assistant to join their Skilled Nursing department at Sacred Heart Village in Avilla, IN. This role is responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining medication inventories. The position may also involve direct patient care and ensuring resident safety.
Requirements
- Medication Aide obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed preferred.
Responsibilities
- Present medication to patient and observes ingestion or administers medication using specified procedures.
- Take vital signs or observes patient to detect response to medication, and reports reactions.
- Restock medication inventories.
- May provide direct patient care.
- Assures resident safety by identifying safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action as appropriate.
