About The Position
Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, Oklahoma is hiring full-time Certified Medication Aides for 6 a.m.–2 p.m. and 2 p.m.–10 p.m. shifts. The role administers oral and topical medications to residents as ordered by a physician and under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following state and federal regulations and facility policies. The aide works as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting resident care and the facility’s clinical care, rehabilitation, wellness, and supportive services.
Requirements
- State certification as a Nurse Aide.
- State certification as a Medication Aide.
- State-approved medication administration certification.
- Complete familiarity with the duties of a certified nurse aide.
- Highly developed observation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with applicable regulations and facility policy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
- Record medication and treatment administration appropriately.
- Observe residents for medication reactions or side effects and report them to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift.
- Administer PRN medications in accordance with applicable regulations and facility policy.
