About The Position

Spanish Cove Retirement Village is hiring a Certified Medication Aide in its Assisted Living department. The role involves providing personal care and daily living assistance to elderly residents and people recovering from surgery, injuries, or accidents, including help with hygiene, dressing, eating, mobility, medication, meals, and activities. The position pays $16.00 per hour and has 12-hour shifts from 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 a.m., three days per week. Weekend and holiday work is required.

Requirements

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Enjoy working one-on-one and be eager to improve and learn new skills.
Ability to lift, move, and transfer 50 pounds and perform all job-related physical duties; frequent lifting and moving are required.
Valid driver’s license and reliable daily transportation.
Ability to act compassionately and supportively.
Availability to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
High school diploma or equivalent, caregiver/CNA/HHA experience, or completion of a CNA program.
Take pride in providing high-quality care.

Hoyer lift experience (specific to client).

Responsibilities

Provide personal hygiene assistance, including help with showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
Help clients with mobility at home or outside, including attending appointments and walks.
Plan and prepare meals.
Assist with physical therapy exercises.
Complete clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
Perform housekeeping duties.
Report unusual incidents and respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Support activities of daily living, including assisting with and serving meals.
