Certified Medication Aide (Day Shift) Assisted Living
About The Position
Spanish Cove Retirement Village is hiring a Certified Medication Aide for its Assisted Living/Memory Care department. The role supports elderly residents and people recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by helping with personal care, prescribed medications, mobility, meals, exercises, shopping, and housekeeping. The aide must respond appropriately to unusual incidents and emergencies and help residents with daily activities, including meals. The schedule is 5:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., with 12-hour shifts three days per week. The posted pay rate is $16.00–$17.00 per hour. Candidates must be able to work weekends and holidays and may need to work different shifts, including nights. Spanish Cove describes its workplace as a caring community and family environment.
Requirements
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and be eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
- Ability to lift, move, and transfer 50 pounds and perform all job-related duties involving frequent lifting and moving.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every day.
- Ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
- Availability to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
- Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent, experience as a caregiver, CNA, or HHA, or completion of a CNA program.
- Take pride in providing high-quality care.

- Hoyer lift experience (specific to client).
Responsibilities
- Provide personal hygiene assistance, including showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
- Help clients with mobility around the home or outside, including attending appointments and taking walks.
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Assist with physical therapy exercises.
- Complete clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Report unusual incidents and respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Assist patients with daily living activities related to meals, including serving food and other tasks as needed.
